Heritage, Considered, Playful & Discover... Just Heritage, Considered, Playful & Discover...

Just 4 of the brand words that we needed to communicate within Bekonscot brand identity. 

Here's how we did it:

Heritage: Core typeface that reflects train signage from the 1930s, alongside vintage textures and shapes in the extended assets. 

Considered: The alignment, balance and detail of the logo which reflects the detail and quality of the model figures around the site. 

Playful: Bright contrasting colour palette - but avoiding the primary colour palette. 

Discover: Simple illustrations layered on top of one another reflecting the model villages onsite.

Something we have been working on over the past few months – the re-brand of one of the oldest model villages located in Beaconsfield. 

It was well overdue a refresh and JWJ Design were lucky enough to be chosen to work on re-vamping their identity and bringing consistency to their communications. 

As the park is due to re-open in time for half-term, we are busy preparing all the different customer touch points - but here is a sneak preview of the new logo.

A mix of seasonal campaigns, new brand identities, award ceremony branding, plus the usual print and signage assets. 
Tough to decide what makes the final edit as there is so much good work to choose from!

NEW WORK // As someone who grew up with F1 on th NEW WORK // 

As someone who grew up with F1 on the TV most Sundays - this project was a brilliant one to have the opportunity to work on. 

ATP specialises in corporate team-building and development, drawing inspiration from the high-octane world of Formula One. With hands-on activities like the PitStop Challenge, they bring speed, precision, and teamwork to life.

Our design captures the essence of F1 with bold, dynamic visuals. Diagonal cuts and shifted letterforms evoke motion and energy, while repeated line patterns and striking, team-inspired colours add a sense of speed and power.

We also decided that having a static logo was a missed opportunity with this brand – in today’s video-centric world, a moving logo is a game-changer.

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to take on the challenge of refreshing ATP events' brand identity – now, we're excited to finally reveal the logo we crafted!

ATP specialises in corporate team-building and development, drawing inspiration from the high-octane world of Formula One. With hands-on activities like the PitStop Challenge, they bring speed, precision, and teamwork to their events.

Our design captures the essence of F1 with bold, dynamic visuals. Diagonal cuts and shifted letterforms evoke motion and energy. Repeated line shapes were added to the brand collateral with bold, striking colours that are reminiscent of F1 teams. 

The angular lines are an additional brand asset, designed for flexibility across different applications and spaces.

As someone who grew up with F1 on the TV during Sunday lunch this was a really exciting and fun project to work on. 

We're also pretty proud of the creative execution so we might shout about it for a bit! 😉

My response to these thoughts... 

➡️ Yes bespoke design can be expensive but it should be seen as an investment in your business. Plus what will it cost if you don't get it done and try and do it yourself?

➡️ Not all creatives are disorganised... we may be easily distracted. 😉 
I have systems in place to ensure I remain organised and in control of my business and my client's projects.

➡️ This might just be a bad experience rather than true for all. At JWJ we provide counter reasons if there is anything we disagree with. At the end of the day you have commissioned us to help with a problem and so we will always try and fix that problem in the best way that everyone can agree on.

As well as being up for an award we were very hono As well as being up for an award we were very honoured to be asked to design the brand look and feel for the relaunched AIP Conference and Awards. 

We made the current logo feel more premium and added sparkly graphics and gradient colours to elevate the layouts. 

The photographer captured some amazing images of our creative work and really showcased how important consistency is – everything from the large screen presentations through to the goody bags, all looking the same and communicating the same message in the same style.

Exciting news!!! We are trade finalists in the @as Exciting news!!! We are trade finalists in the @associationofindoorplay awards happening in June. 

Trade suppliers had to showcase how they have gone above and beyond for their clients in the indoor play space. Something which we do everyday, we forge long-term relationships with our clients so that we are an integral part of their marketing team rather than 'just a design supplier'. 

We are up against some inspiring companies so very proud to have made it this far.

When you create a product and people actually like When you create a product and people actually like it! 

Last year I launched our free campaign calendar specifically aimed at businesses who run seasonal marketing activities or events. 
With the support and guidance of @sarah.sangster I put it out there hoping that it might be useful for small businesses who feel like they are always a little behind when promoting their events; get them organised and remind them of events in the calendar they might have missed. 

I reached out to some of the people who downloaded my calendar to gather any feedback and one amazing lady came back with this brilliant quote: 

"I started using the planner this January. This is the first time I have seen anything/used anything like it. 

I am finding it so useful – I have a very small play cafe and so I do all my own social media. It has helped me organise myself and I’m so grateful!
I hope you do another one! Thank you."

One of my goals has been to do more drawing this y One of my goals has been to do more drawing this year. Saturday afternoon seemed a perfect time to experiment with different mediums and just have a play. Some of these are not ‘finished’ yet as I want to try layering pen on top. 

So nice to do something just for fun rather than for a particular brief or client.

It was a pleasure helping Leah on all aspects of this project, from name creation, strapline through to creating an icon and logo design.

We created a stylised icon that represents growth and human connection. Leah didn't want anything that felt too corporate but was distinguished and recognisable. 

As well as the main logo we expanded out the identity in to various different iterations.

BRAND UPDATE // Brand and logo redesign for @water BRAND UPDATE // Brand and logo redesign for @watermouthcastle a family theme park and castle in North Devon. 

We wanted to make sure we kept an illustration of the castle in the logo but also include their iconic toboggan so we teamed up with an illustrator to help us. 

As the theme park is part of the Escapade Group, using the same style of typography like @hobbledown_epsom was important.

Silver Fox provide support for pensioners, helping them apply for government support. 

We created a stylish identity which reflected the client's personality through the use of lower case, rounded lettering and the dot of the i becoming the fox's nose.
