2024: A Year of Growth, Creativity, and Exciting Milestones at JWJ Design

WRITTEN BY: ALISON JOSHI, DIRECTOR OF JWJ DESIGN

As we start a brand new year, it’s the perfect moment to pause and reflect on a year of growth, creativity, and new horizons at JWJ Design. This year has been nothing short of transformative, marked by milestones and achievements that have shaped our journey. It’s easy to get caught up in the momentum of progress, but the start of a new year offers a chance to look back and appreciate just how far we’ve come.

A Fresh Start

January began with a renewed sense of purpose as new clients and opportunities arose and we prepared for an ambitious year ahead. A significant highlight early on was expanding our team — welcoming Sophie, our fantastic admin assistant, who has been instrumental in keeping our operations running smoothly and ensuring we keep on top of our marketing and new business opportunities.

Steady Growth

This year, we cemented our relationship with Claires Court Independent School and became their preferred design supplier. An important task was to refresh the different department’s prospectuses, creating a suite of assets that are all representative of the school and more importantly brand consistent.

Not only did we help brand the AIP Conference and Awards, but we were also honoured to become finalists in the prestigious AIP Trade Award category –  recognition of the hard work, care and creativity that defines everything we do for our clients in the leisure sector.

Big Campaign Moments

2024 saw us expand our creative portfolio, particularly in the advertising space. We successfully executed two out-of-home campaigns in the London and Berkshire regions, for two of our clients. We also delved in to the digital space, delivering impactful online ad campaigns alongside our trusted print designs.

Another exciting project was our first Halloween Scare campaign for Watermouth Castle, a thrilling challenge that pushed our creativity and resulted in some eye-catching visuals used across print, digital and outdoor media spaces.

Exploring AI in 2024

AI dominated conversations in 2024, and the rapid developments over the past year suggest even more exciting changes are on the horizon. For creatives, it feels like the dawn of a new era, with tools like Adobe integrating AI features that make certain tasks quicker and more efficient.

That said, AI still has a long way to go before it poses any real threat to creative jobs — it’s more of a helpful assistant than a replacement. This year, we experimented with AI-generated conceptual imagery for seasonal campaigns, which sped up the creative process significantly. However, knowing when to rely on AI and when to stick with good old-fashioned Photoshop skills remains an art form in itself.

We’re excited to see how AI continues to evolve in the year ahead and how it might further enhance our creative toolkit.

New Horizons

Toward the end of the year, we were thrilled to secure an historic visitor attraction as a new client. While we’re keeping the details under wraps for now, we can’t wait to share the work in the next few months – watch this space!

Our client base also continued to flourish, with 16% of our income coming from new clients and 84% from returning ones — a testament to the lasting relationships we build with all our clients.

We’re excited to continue pushing creative boundaries, strengthening our client relationships, and growing our talented team. Thank you for being a part of our journey in 2024 and can’t wait to see what 2025 brings JWJ Design.
