How to maximise a video shoot for your brand
WRITTEN BY: FEEL GOOD FILMS
Video content is without any doubt an amazing medium to reach out to an audience and engage with it. Videos can promote a brand and their services, educate your audience, and increase engagement on multiple communication channels, as they drive recall and emotional connection.
That’s why an increasing number of businesses decide to harness the power of visual storytelling to get their message across by hiring professional video makers.

Feel Good Films is a group of professional filmmakers, specialised in creating premium bespoke videos that inform, inspire and make people feel good. Having worked for years with leisure and educational institutions, here is our advice on how to maximise a video shoot to best promote your brand and services and make the most out of your time.
1. Good communication
Ensure the production company supplier has a full understanding of all of your different audiences and where they are online so they can decide the best narrative to create for the brand film. Agreeing on a brief that embodies your brand values is a great way to start.
2. Talking to different audiences
Please be aware that not all audiences will respond to the same style of content, so for the best results, plan different content for each target audience. For example, children and teens will respond to more exciting content (e.g. fast-paced rhythm, exciting music and images, etc.). On the other hand, parents and families will want to know that their children are having a fun but safe time, so they will prefer a more informative video.
3. Interviews
If the videos involve interviews, ensure you’re not only asking questions on the video within the brief you created. To make the most out of your video shoot, try to answer wider questions where you can create social content for later in the year. It is rare to find the time to get a founder to sit down and talk about their business or a headmaster at a school. Therefore, maximise the time you have with them to cover more topics to use for bite-size social content.
4. Content optimisation
Ensure you’re creating multi-purpose content that works for all relevant social media and digital platforms. If you have an idea of the platforms you want to post on, whether it is a story on Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn, it is important to relay this information to the production company, as they can ensure in production these formats have been accounted for in framing video interviews and B-roll clips.
5. Content longevity
Take into account seasonality or specific events for the longevity of content.
For example, if you decide to film your brand film at Christmas time when all the decorations are up, be aware that while the video content might be great during the holiday season, it will not have as much usability throughout the year, therefore it won’t provide as much value as one without decorations.
