Breathing new life into the world’s oldest model village

Established in 1929 by Roland Callingham, Bekonscot is the world’s oldest original model village, capturing the charm of 1930s rural England across 1.5 acres of intricate models and a delightful railway. More than a nostalgic attraction, it’s a charitable institution, having donated over £21 million to local causes through the Roland Callingham Foundation.

For the 2025 season, Bekonscot aimed to boost visitor numbers by 20% and raise local awareness. However, inconsistent branding was diluting recognition and engagement. A refreshed, unified identity was essential to spark curiosity and increase footfall.

JWJ Design created a vibrant new brand, balancing family appeal, heritage, and discovery. This revitalised identity was rolled out across a redesigned website, updated signage, and bold social media and advertising campaigns, delivering a cohesive, engaging experience at every touchpoint.
